This was a global phenomenon, rolling internet "brownouts" across the globe, one section at a time. Nobody remembers that? I remember having news articles on it that BLEW people's minds until I lost that hard drive.

It wasn't 100% at the same time like flipping a main breaker. It was large sections in a rolling blackout. It was big news, then it was hard to find much about it, and now it's all but gone. Worked I.T. for decades so I was quite aware.
