not exactly conspiracy but creepy as Fk to look at

We first hear about the Thai phenomenon of the Luk Thep in 2015, when a woman named Mananya Boonmee claims to own an impressive collection of dolls and in which she would confirm that they would be haunted by childish entities. As the country has been facing a considerable drop in the birth rate for several decades (from 6.15 children per woman in 1960 to 1.48 children per woman today), the manufacture of these toys would have appeared to be an ideal solution to the major problem of accelerated population ageing.

Found this article that may or may not explain this new concept of "Reborn Dolls" It is called Luk Thep Dolls.

How was this concept born, which at first glance may seem both strange and slightly morbid? What does the term “Luk Thep” mean? Is it really possible to “lock” children’s minds in objects? These many questions, which raise both questions and scepticism, seem to have been explained.

not dolls

Can you elucidate? I'm wondering if we're thinking the same thing.

Anam

I thought at first that it could be stillborn or aborted babies preserved through plastination. Such an idea would be really sick. Unloved and rejected infants murdered by their parents being sold as toys to children.

https://infogalactic.com/info/Plastination

That idea does not hold. First of all, these are mass produced. Secondly, not all of the dolls look totally lifelike. The real explanation is that manufacturing has come a long way since dolls were shaped by sculpting parts and assembling them. Such dolls were stylized and looked like an artist's impression of a baby.

The selling point of these dolls is that, facially and bodily, they are anatomically correct and made to correspond to the rapid changes in body-shape during early infancy.

Yes the same mold is used. Have you ever heard of Luk Thep Dolls? https://www.hellystar.com/en/luk-thep-dolls/

Silicone molds. Sculpting. It's not that hard. You can 3d scan a sleeping babys face, import it into 3d modeling software and clean up the model. Smooth everything out, 3d print the model, smooth out the 3d print, then make and mold and cast it.

I was researching silicone molding material a year or so back and stumbled upon the fake baby stuff. There's videos on YouTube that demonstrate how this is all done. I don't think anyone is harming real babies to achieve these results. It is definitely creepy though. This is a hobby that adult women get into. I'm guessing most of them can't have children. It's kinda sad.

So you don't think there is more to this than simply marketing these dolls to infertile women? Have you seen anything older than...lets say 5 years old looking this realistic on the public market? My point being I would not be able to tell the difference between this and a real baby. Are they making adult versions of these? Answer - definitely.

Anam

So the same process used to manufacture creepy sex-dolls is being used to make creepy baby dolls. What the hell next? Silicone molded memento mori of dead family members? Robot baby dolls that crawl on the ceiling?

dgun82

Show me an adult sex doll that is as realistic as these are...actually dont lol. The reason you do not see more mature version of these dolls is because they are currently being used for other things. Like fake dead bodies.

mikeymoo242

My daughter had a couple of them a few years ago when she was younger.

These dolls a crazy realistic!

She left hers in our car when we went for breakfast one day. Sure as shit, people standing around the car, pretty much ready to smash a window. We came out to the car & literally had to drop the doll on the ground to prove it’s just a doll.

mehwah

hahahaha.... drop the doll and get lynched by angry mob......

NakedWarrior

a "couple" of these. You must be rich since Reborns go from $250-$800.00

mikeymoo242

She bought them used. We didn’t pay for them. She got money for her birthday & Christmas to be able to get them.

NakedWarrior

Ah, well, if I ever see any super cheap I am buying them too and re-selling them as I see they go for a lot on Ebay, etc.

WTAF?

dgun82

The more you browse the more bizarre shit you see. They display anatomically correct toddlers, babies mixed with apes, some with down syndrome. Im surprised this hasn't been brought up before.

toutedesuite

Creepier than any expanation/description I could read. These people are sick. Evil.
