Since the advancements in biology and virusology, it's possible to create a deadly virus and the antidote for it. All the elite have to do is to take the antidote and spread the virus. All the epidemics you see happen in the last decades are nothing less than experiments in order to find the fastest and deadliest virus. Every time an epidemy starts, it might be the final one.
