On the upside, if this theory has merit, and if the Chinese did a good job, the virus is likely designed to target Hans only, and is unlikely to harm other races very much.

unlikely... they could crush Hong Kong anytime and no one will do anything. They would have been able to create a fake outbreak with media magic if they'd wanted to, and no need for a new virus either when they have decades worth of flu samples on ice.

It would also be kinda dumb for them to make a virus that kills only their own kind and the Chinese are not dumb.

Because the people of hong Kong have shown that they will not go quietly. What they want to do to them in 10 years is 10 times worse than what they are protesting today. It would be expected that the Chineese government, having decided not to allow hong Kong continued autonomy, to break their spirit now while their resolve is not yet bolstered by the knowledge of the terrible fate that awaits them in 10 years.

While I agree that if the CIA were so inclined they could agitate for more protests, but the conditions were set up by the very nature of China's agreement with Britain. By allowing capitalism in Hong Kong for so long it proved beyond any reasonable doubt that it is an incalculably better way to live. Of course the people are going to protest having that taken away.

I agree with you. I think the way the CIA operates is that it finds existing riffs within other countries to exploit, and then funds the side that opposes the state they want to fight.

If they want to take down a country, they fund any existing rebel factions.

The point was the Hong Kong riots was to set up a revolutionary base for color revolution in China, they are using the Wuhan flu to say that China is on the brink of collapse and that things are spiraling out of control.
