COVID-19 is the name for COronaVIrus Disease 2019 - that's the sickness itself.

They differentiate from SARS-CoV 2 (SARS CoronaVirus type 2) which is the actual cootie that gets into your body and may or may not cause the sickness COVID-19.

It's like HIV/AIDS. SARS-CoV 2 is HIV, COVID-19 is AIDS.

There are research papers going back to 2004 where the Chinese are giving results from their experiments mixing SARS with HIV. That makes it seem Chinese.
