Nah, you must have missed it. Way back around early 2013 or so it became one of those nonesensical things that "progressives" shout at people they don't like. Then the "alt-right" co-opted it with the "get woke, go broke" thing and used it ironically to deride those same progressives.

I've never heard it in context of 9/11 and if there is some usage of it in the homosexuals, that is not in general context of the mental illness that constitutes progressive thought, it's news to me. 9/11 people were derogatorily called "truthers" / "truther movement", that much I remember.
