TL;DR the PCR test for Coronavirus infection is itself untested and there is no reason to feel assured of either its specificity or its sensitivity; and especially no apparent or repeatable correlation between positive tests and deaths. Also, similarly to the AIDS/HIV public freakout, many generalized illnesses are being blamed on the virus du jour when there are other possible causes.
