Wow. It definitely seems like they had bugged the place before they started intimidating her. Hopefully she can get professional help on how to proceed. Good for her for not letting this stop her work.

If that computer she had hidden was compromised, they could listen through its microphone 24/7. And that can be done remotely with a large variety of exploits if she had an unpatched OS (and even if she was up to date, by the NSA).
