What's your thoughts on the California projected 57% infected?

90% are immune from having caught a common cold in the past 5 years or so if that cold happened to be in the coronavirus-beta family. (So something like 15% of colds).

Of the remaining 10%, 57% could be low. But it's just another strain of the common cold, so who gives a fuck?

LA/OC here. State is shut down but on the plus side alcohol is drive thru/pickup now, driving without traffic is amazing, and community groups have been organizing (my running groups, etc). The panic is almost palpable - People pass others in trails/sidewalks visibly afraid of each other - but more worrying than the virus is the economic impact it will have (immediate, long term). That’s really where society breaks down - no work, no money, not enough gibs from government and it’s the LA riots all over again.

Yeah riots fuck okay thanks for the update. Here in Central Valley not too much has changed aside of the panic buying and delivery/curbside only for restaurants. I still see a lot of traffic on the road and people out walking their dogs so pretty much business as usual. Then again I feel like we have a lot of people who don’t work driving around all the time anyway so there’s that.

No. I have been to California. Then i look at the population and the voting statistics and realize that anyone who actually cared, wbout their future and family would have left.

There is no fight left there. That fucking place is due for a complete server wipe, if you get my meaning.

The entire state has gone so far left, that the few good Americans, who havent thought it through clearly, are holding on to what they have. They paid money for it, it is worth more than reality so my retirement is tied up in it. Would have left, had the previous sentence not clouded their judgement.

They are part of the problem;

by continuing to support a state that has historically not cared about them, will not care for them, in which they (specifically white males), are the minority who are hated. Support Hollywood above everything else (inclusing the population percentages).

Granted, I understand the my dollars thing. But enough is enough. DO you really want your children or granchildren growing up in the California indoctrination that the small percentage already believes is wrong?

I make it a point to not go to, or buy anything from a company that is directly based in california. There are instances where this simply isnt possible. But damnit i do my best to ensure the fucking state gets 0 dollars from me.

57% is probably too low. Most people will get the virus. It's possible many people have already had it during peak flu season. Most people don't/won't experience any symptoms at all.

Some really old, already chronically ill people will die, probably less than from the normal seasonal flu.

The underwhelming nature of this 'epidemic' won't stop the overzealous politicians from using the media-generated fear frenzy to pass more laws infringing on people's freedoms.
