Nihilism was conceived by a mentally ill person, who suffered from severe manic depression in the suicide-hypomanic phase. It is amazing that they still don't explain this at the university. Do not waste your time with neo-philosophical bullshit, learn only the fundamental philosophy and invest your time in psychology or psychiatry to understand what really happens.

You can skip Godel's update of Anselm's ontological argument for God, and instead consider Godel's two incompleteness theorems as a proof that logical positivism took a fundamentally wrong to philosophy of science.

I do encourage people to study at least a little philosophy of science, because we need to have some notion of "justified true belief" in order to make sense of papers like Why Most Published Research Findings Are False and counterarguments like this one.

You could just skip philosophy and go straight to mathematical logic and statistics. That way you'll know enough recursion theory to parse Godel's proofs.

math is one of 3 aspects of science, physics and experimentation will tell you more about reality than math and pure logic. There are limits to these axioms, entire books dedicated to proving 1+1=2. There are infinities greater than infinities we dont know what problems are solvable or would just take a really long time. N vs NP. Universe stops at a plank length, math doesn't.
