No shit. Has never happened before and won't happen after. (Unless they pull this off again that is)

Jews melted steel beams

Anarchy99

If you go to the crime scene where the buildings just fell. There was no crushing. They barely picked up any seismic activity across the river at lamont-doherty. There was hardly any wreckage on the ground and there should have been 30 stories of wreckage but there wasn't. Those Towers turn to dust in midair. People were still coming down the stairwell. They look up and see blue sky and ask where did the towers go? It was a far different technology than bombs which leave a pile of wreckage. Nobody seems to be noticing this

ScannerDarkly

It is physically IMPOSSIBLE for a smaller portion of building to completely crush a much larger and stronger portion without additional assistance.

Basic grade school physics.

For every action there is an EQUAL AND OPPOSITE reaction.

30 floors of building can crush at most 30 floors before being completely consumed by the forces involved.

ichlibejuice

It's almost like fires spread.

Simonsaysgoat

You know that sky scrapers in third world countries have caught fire and burned for hours upon hours and never came close to a vollapse.? Do you know those towers were over engineered, according to the guy that fucking designed it?

Veggiehead

Physics and common sense took the day off on 9/11,. As well as Lucky Larry.

Gimmedat

I'm not arguing one way or another. But the momentum of a third of a building could cause the bottom portion to become insecure.

offender

That is not true. Keep in mind that higher up floors have higher amounts of potential energy than lower portions.

Wally777

The top third of the Towers was built with thinner steel beams and less concrete than the middle third of the Towers, which were also built with thinner steel beams and less concrete than the bottom third of each Tower. The top third of the buildings did not have the force to crush the entire middle third, as the middle was more massive than the top.

In any case, the top third of the South Tower began to shear off and topple to the pavement in the direction of least resistance. Suddenly the top third stopped and did a miraculous shimmy sha-wobble in mid-air. It stopped falling off to one side and came straight down instead. It pulled off this apparently gravity-defying stunt because the building beneath it was being destroyed by explosives symmetrically. This crazy event was not aired after it occurred on 9/11. All the news networks showed only the latter half of the collapse of the South Tower. If they had repeated the first few seconds of the collapse, viewers would see that the building was demolished by explosives rather than coming down spontaneously.

ScannerDarkly

The crushing forces are applied equally to both the top and the bottom. The top is not immune to being crushed because it is on top.

Why is equal and opposite so hard for some idiots to understand.

30 floors cannot crush more than 30 floors, there will be no solid material anymore to do the crushing.

If I drive my car at 100 miles an hour into a semi truck going 0, I’m not going to crush the whole fucking truck because I have more potential energy.

Please let everyone know where you went to school so we avoid sending our kids there.

Simonsaysgoat

Totally agree. Also it's not like the top 30 floors were dropped from above into the bottom section. It should have fallen over not collapse into its own fucking footprint. Demolition experts today can demolish abuilding and give you whatever size chunks of material you want. This building was turned into dust essentially. No fucking way that happened naturally.

Social_Construct

Youre a dunce, the towers were an inside job for sure but you dont understand phsyics at all shut the fuck up

ScannerDarkly

Insults aren’t arguments. You are obviously the one who doesn’t understand basic physics.

JustFuckingDoIt

There are free 3D modelling softwares available that anyone can install on a decent computer or laptop and see for themselves what happens.

But they don't.

One guy I know asks me not to tell him the truth about stuff because "there's nothing he can do about it"

Harry_Areola

Computer modeling is not a study. It's having a predetermined conclusion and massaging the inputs until the output is what you want. GIGO. This shit us no more real than global warming "research."

antiracistMetal

You cannot predetermine conclusions if the simulation is chaotic enough. Not all simulations just meet the will of their creator.

GIGO is not a law of computer science. Sometimes garbage informative can be improved, or new information can reasonably be guessed from it.

@bojangles @eagleshigh @sarmegahhikkitha @heygeorge

heygeorge

GIGO is not a law of computer science.

Wait. Jumping in with no context... Dirty data is most certainly a thing. And it is well known that a system can only work with the data set it has, not the data set it wished it had.

antiracistMetal

Give me any formal name for the law you're referencing, or a citation from a computer science journal for the claim you're trying to make.

heygeorge

Nevermind, I read the context. @Harry_Areola needs to wipe his own ass

heygeorge

It only serves to prove the opposite: Distortions are evident in the extrapolated version. That dolphin looks deformed

heygeorge

Show me where distortion is not introduced.

Voat looked at this method with the mail/settings/dark mode icons during one of the version upgrades and it was trashed due to the created distortion.

antiracistMetal

I don't know what you mean "distortion." It is altering the image. Of course it must be distorted. The only way to not distort an image is to return the exact same image.

The goal is to produce something which is preferable to the human eye. I think that most humans would agree that after processing, the images look better. You're a faggot.

heygeorge

I like the look of the oversized images on the left. They are clean and give the clearest depiction of the ‘original.’

Hey @eagleshigh , @antiracistmetal thinks he can use pixelated Super Mario images to prove something he’s wrong about

antiracistMetal

lol!! That callback!

heygeorge

:D I thought you might appreciate it

deleteme123

Says the guy who didn't look at their computer models.

ichlibejuice

Says the guy who doesn't understand information theory

madmalloy

Yeah, they need to rebuild it, light it up, and see if it falls down! That would be a proper study! <snort> Read the fucking article.
