Investigative journalism in mainstream media is dead. In fact, investigative journalism is mostly just dead. Has been for a while.

I swear - are you all just idiots?

  • Everyone is "sheltering in place" as required.
  • Therefore, this means non emergency medical visits are being cancelled or delayed*.
  • Therefore, This means that hospitals are not seeing their normal traffic.
  • Further, critical of cases of COVID-19 are coming in lower than expected. (Thanks in large part to point #1.)
  • Therefore, this means that hospitals are mostly empty.

Despite what the nancys in the room think, we have a decent medical system.

We haven't hit a bottle neck yet, but the bottle neck won't be hospital beds. The bottle neck will be vents and PPE. We can handle the current load of COVID-19. Thankfully it isn't 10X the current load as then we would see problems.

*I've spoken to 3 family members who have recently told me "My XYZ is bothering me. Normally, I'd go to the doctor / hospital for this, but I think I'll wait a few weeks and see if it gets worse."
