So the idea goes like this,

Measles used to be no big deal. Then it seemed like a few years ago measles was suddenly scary and people who didn't vaccinate were assholes.

But maybe there' was more to it than that. Maybe "they" were trying to figure out the tactics and strategies now being employed for corona. The actual risk of atypical measles is practically zero. But you'd still get stats talking about the number of people who die from it. People just didn't get the part that, out of a hundred thousand measles cases, just as many people would die from adverse reactions to the vaccine.

It became apparent that you could scare people, most people over a relatively harmless disease if your narrative was authoritative... and scary enough. No lying necessary.

And now we've got corona. Exact same playbook. Everyone is reacting perfectly to a similar panic narrative.
