Just doing some general math here. Voat is a low ranked site. The number of upvoats on this (as of 4-10-20 10pm mountain time) is 14. At this moment, there are 16k deaths attributed to SARS-2 (COVID19). If there are 300M people in the US, then the death rate is 1 in 20k. At this point, there is 3 reported deaths in this post (directly known people) and one "friend of a friend" reported death.

Let's assume that 5 % of the people who view this post upvoat. That's 280 views. And let's assume that those 280 people each know about 100 other people. That's a network of about 28k people. So on average, we should have about 1.5 cases of death reported, but we see 4 reported here in the comments. It 4 instead of 1-2 seems plausible, but given that I'm being generous about the upvoats and knowing 100 other people, it seems like there's a little manipulation going on.

My grandma just died of it. She was in the hospital a little over a week

ITT: people in denial

grendelbiter

A friends's grandpa has it but my friend said he's very old and was sick already, so it's hard to tell if he really has it or is just dying of age.

Centerist415

I don’t know anyone and I live in San Francisco. Our hospitals are basically empty. We have a senior home in the east bay that was just hit, but after reading the health review of that place, yellow fever is actually a lucky diagnoses.

Obrez

Seven.

Three friends, two of their wives, both the parents of two other friends of mine, all of these cases are in New Jersey or Pennsylvania. My friends' dad is in the hospital on a ventilator, looking like their mom is going to be getting better soon.

Let me tell y'all when you get groceries you need to wash them all off with soap and water, if you want to save water put what you can out in the sun and rotate them to get some good heat and ultraviolet exposure, same with the bags you get from the grocery store, open one of them put the rest inside that bag and leave it outside in the sun for two days, don't cross contaminate new and old bags. Wash your hands throughout and at the end, and remember to wash the handles and doorknobs you used bringing the groceries in and putting them away.

Ihateyuppies

Yeah I beat my meat out in the sun for two days. Shut up shill the virus doesn't spread like that. We have no idea what the transmission rate is.

Obrez

Fool, we know ultraviolet light kills it and so does heat.

We know the virus stays alive on surfaces at room temp for easily 4 days.

We have seen a huge variety of R0s, the R0 without containment efforts is probably 10 with common sense precautions its probably 4, with social distancing, mask culture, seasonal heat and sun, and lockdowns it looks like we are approaching 1 or dipping under it.

Expect mask culture, social distancing, and the common sense precautions to be social norms in america from here out, were relying on achieving a low R0 over summer so that the virus spreads enough fit segments of the population to develop an immune response and act as a shield to keep the R0 low when cold weather returns.

Fool.

Ihateyuppies

Burden is on you nigger faggot.

Gigglestick

My roommate thinks she has it...

ardvarcus

Nobody in my family line has the disease. None of my neighbors have it. There are, supposedly, a scattering of cases in the hospitals in my area, but I have my doubts about whether they really have Covid-19 or not.

Stinkybeans

My In-laws are just getting over it right now. Mid 50's and average health, ma had moderate symptoms but nothing requiring hospitalization, pops seemed like a very minor sinus infection. Both are almost completely recovered now.

TheNiggerFaggot

Go volunteer in a hospital, and deliberately expose yourself to people who they claim to be sick with it. Come back here and post results.

bluedeath

No because testing is nearly nonexistent. I know people that are sick with nearly all the symptoms and will never be able to get tested. Fever only occurs if you get something akin to pneumonia and that's the one symptom you must have to get tested in most states (high fever).

norse

And no one my family knows either... However i was told a lady died of it last wek.. She was 99....

i_like_cheese

Cut down in her prime.

norse

Lol

meowski

i had a slight coof last week and i died

Gravspeed

Not directly, but 5 cases are very close to me.

Nosferatjew

Nope. Not a soul.

sLnTsRvC

I know 3 people that got it and recovered in around 10-14 days. 33, 34, and 40 were their ages.

mmabouncer

My 63 year old, Rachel Maddow watching father had it. He never got tested, though.

bosunmoon

My neighbor, a mid sixties, very fit runner just died a few days ago.

Nosferatjew

Suicide?

bosunmoon

No. kungflu.

Nosferatjew

Prove it.

bosunmoon

Not going to dox myself.

Nosferatjew

Then I guess we're done here.

FriedChicken

Four people I know got sick, one still has limited lung functionality. The other is the mother of a friend of mine. She was confirmed positive. The worry now is for the husband.

JohnGaltApproves

Climate hoax spreader. Don’t trust about coronahoax.

FriedChicken

I'm sorry, what?

Xmarduk

Ha! Kevin Bacon.

Sherrie

Yes, 18 year old cousin who completely recovered and the father of my son’s friend who is still sick but getting better.

Landrictree

Nope.

MAGANDN

No

ggolemg

Yes. My father tested positive last Friday and by 630pm Monday he had passed away from it. He had a whole host of high risk attributes. He caught it in the hospital.

BoraxTheFungarian

Well, I checked your history and you seem to be someone who wants to help. No shilldar going off... Make your dad proud in the coming days. We are the good guys. They've literally painted themselves into a corner and now it is up to us to make sure they are held accountible.

Curious if you guys took any extra measures in temrms of your dad's health... Namely holistic things like extra sun, extra water, herbs etc.

beefartist

I am very sorry for your loss. My dad died just over a year ago and there aren't many days I don't have a quick cry over missing him at some point.

onezeno

Why'd he go to the hospital? Seems like the last place he should go if at risk.

beefartist

The nature of western healthcare is that one intervention begets another. If you have health issues that you have had treated that often makes you reliant on the system (is post chemo or radiation therapy).

Nosferatjew

Pics or it didn't happen.

Ihateyuppies

It didn't happen there are a bunch of old accounts on here shilling hard.

olieman

Wow, so sorry for your loss. God bless you and your family.

c0ck

Are you sure they didn’t switch the “cause of death” on him? We need to differentiate between people dying WITH the coronavirus vs people dying OF the coronavirus.

Sorry for your loss.
