For the paranoid:

TURN OFF YOUR INTERNET WHEN OPENING PDFs

... done.

mehwah

nope... for the TRUE paranoid 1)run Puppy Linux in RAM from a thumbdrive 2)unplug your computer hard drive 3)open PDF without internet connection.

BoraxTheFungarian

Ah, cool tip. Thanks. How can I be sure it is really off?

Elcycs

Unplug the wire. Use a usb and an offline machine.

Annelise

As always, this will only affect users who aren't smart enough to disable scripts and URLs in their PDF readers.

mehwah

Well.... that would be just about everyone

TwitterBannedIt

mehwah

pby1000

What do you use to create pdfs on Linux?

Annelise

I use Qoppa's PDF Studio.

pby1000

Thank you! I will look into that.

mehwah

Wy would I need to? I use .odt or save as a .doc.... but I see LibreOffice (which costs zero dollars...and I think works on windows too) can export as PDF apparently

Annelise

Many places use Acrobat simple for the document review integration built into SharePoint.

pby1000

OK. Thank you for the information.

I have no idea. I was just curious. I need to create pdfs sometimes, and I am getting tired of using what I am using.
