Just a thought. There's lots of talk about the virus being fake and it being an attempt to go into an authoritarian system. But what if the issue is actual war between China and America, and that China has been doing some very destructive things in order to become the next world power. Let's just say that China created a serious hole in the Ozone layers by using lots of damaging chemicals.

So, how do you fix the problem? Obviously, you need to put China in check, by pulling all production out of China, but China (more specifically, the CCP) has war plans to create use biological warfare to economically cripple America. What if, Fort Detrick, pretended to share a bio weapon with Canada, knowing that the CCP would seek to get a copy (China is notorious for not inventing, and instead stealing tech), but it was an ineffective version of a real bio weapon (or the known solution is the "Trump Drug"). China releases it and blames US troops in China at the time (for the military Olympics thing) in a false flag move. The virus spreads across the world and the world goes into lockdown for these last 2 months.

Effects:

• China looks like an asshoe.

• Trump gets to reset the banking system.

• The Ozone holes are being fixed.

• CCP takes a black eye for buying up all the medical supplies.

• CCP is being economically shunned as America and other countries move production out of China and into other needy third world countries.

Downside:

• American economy is going to be on life support for a while.

• America may need to institute a temporary UBI to make sure those on the lower rungs of society don't starve/die.

• Tensions between CCP and US forces will be high, because CCP realizes that even though the American economy has been damaged, they are about to get economically fucked. (They're economy is a paper tiger ATM with all the unnecessary structures built.)

Observation:

• If you really think about it, we, as a whole don't need much to survive. All these computers, gadgets and such don't contribute much to our well being. As long as we have food, water, shelter and heating, things will be fine. The only real concerns would be national defense, and ensuring that those people who've become unemployed are taken care of. It means a lower standard of living, but can actually be a higher quality of life.
