Many years ago, people lacked direction and Anonymous inspired many people because "Anonymous" didn't get tied down to any one interpretation. A neo-Nazi and a neo-Bolshevik could both claim to speak for the people as "Anonymous." Obviously a neo-nazi and a bolshie cannot cooperate for long if they actually have to listen to each other.

Anonymous is kind of a joke nowadays. If I tell you that Anonymous sent me to find the notorious hacker named 4chan, you are supposed to pick up on the fact that I am pulling your leg. Maybe the people who claim to have the "official" website mean well, but they are not likely to inspire the vast majority of people who admired Anonymous years ago.

Theres a rule of thumb I use. The more related a 'counter culture' figure is, to a celeb type, the more i distrust what they're spouting. Think about it, why would "the powers that be" ALLOW someone like Steven to spread his supposed UFO info, if it was true?

IRC dwellers initially admired, then immediately shunned.

We usually say "Anonymous? Yea, I've heard of the CIA"

Alphabet orgs had moles in anon for years via blackmail. The name now has no meaning, nor has it for a good while.

I forget exactly what Anonymous said maybe 2 years ago but a lot of us ditched them then so I agree with you. I’ve found that people I’ve followed has narrowed over time and shifted as they seem to turn against President Trump or no longer share my opinions.
