Let's learn by example and keep WhoaVerse (or Voat, I guess) a truly open alternative, where freedom of speech is not a privilege, but an inherent right.

Correct. If WhoaVerse is run by a US company it would be doomed. But I think it was started by a Swiss dude outside the US.
