ps. when i was 15 i raced pikes peak colorado. typical DOT3 boils at 300F above 10,000' pikes is about 12.5k. brakes are vapor pressure up there after heavy breaking

i have not seen any of those but from doing heat treatments & basic physics, i am aware going from roughly -200 F to 200 F depending on a shadow can rapidly destroy material.
