Soldiers, Marines, sailors. They kill. Thou shall not murder. I know what it says, but don't you think God knew that wars existed when those laws were given to Moses? So what you are saying is your country is going to war against a tyrannical ruler and you get drafted and trained. Then your country says you kill them of we kill you. That's a no win for anyone. God knows and understands this. Unfortunately for all of history, the young are always thrown in as cannon fodder. On the first DAY of the battle of the Somme, Britain incurred 60,000 casualties. At the start of WW1 their entire military was about 120,000 strong. And with that going on, they had very successful recruitment drives. Those kids, they knew they weren't coming home and they volunteered anyway. They were fighting with modern weapons and 80 year old tactics. They had soldiers as young as 13. The recruitment officers would follow the kids home from school telling them all sorts of bullshit. And they were shot too. One q4 year old who had survived over a year of fighting just had enough. He simply couldn't do it the next day. He was taken off the line. Had a one day court martial without legal representation and surprise surprise, he was found guilty. The next morning he was tied to a pole, blindfolded and shot before 0700. It infuriates me just talking about it. Where was God that day when that 14 year old MAN needed him? And hundreds of officers taken off the line to recuperate. They didn't get shot at dawn. Thou shall not murder. I hardly think that young man went one day without praying. He didn't have a choice. And when he couldn't do it anymore, they murdered him for it. Sad part is, by dawn I am sure he was calm and took solace in knowing he was not going back on the line.
