Well we did have concentration camps in WW2 for Japanese, Italians, and Germans. We re-branded and called them "internment camps" halfway through the war. Fun fact you will go mad if you try to find an accurate death count from these camps. That information doesn't seem to be available and modern history books have stopped mentioning them for the most part, or if they do they only mention that we did it to the Japanese.
