If cash is eliminated, people will substitute another good for cash. It cannot be stopped, not even in a prison.

Besides, if people cannot buy what they need, at a certain point they'll just take it by force.

Legal ownership doesn't mean a whole lot under conditions where you can only keep what you can actively defend.

Most Scandinavian countries are essentially cashless. In Canada, cash is used rarely. Even farmer's markets allow you to tap. For the most part, it's incredibly convenient although the rise of cancel culture in banking (Discover, Gofundme) show how vulnerable those with unsavoury viewpoints are to being left without the ability to access or transfer their funds.

We use cash in Canada all the time. I use it pretty much exclusively.

What I do know is the cancel culture is cancelling their own customers. Competitors will arise to fill that void. Money is never left on the table for long.
