Umm, that 0.054, not 0.054%. That's 5.4%.

Also, you are making the same mistake that the initial modelers did - you are confusing CFR with IFR. The Case Fatality Rate - the ratio of people who got sick vs those that subsequently died. The Infection Fatality Rate - the ratio of people who were infected vs those that died.

Well, the numbers OP posted are not "actual numbers". They are Upper/Lower bound values used for modeling, and then these numbers are the "most likely" numbers/variables for modelers to use, so that everyone doing modeling and predictors are using the same variables of Infection rate (R ₀ ), and Infection spread rates.

The CDC is reporting a current CFR of 2.67%. This includes all co-morbidities. If we use the "Only COVID" listed as cause of death, this drops the CFR to roughly 0.2% (0.187%) However, neither the "Only COVID" nor the "COVID listed" numbers are truly correct. We know that any respiratory disease can cause heart failure. We know that COVID's strain on an already compromised system (like any infection virus, it pulls the bodies resources away form fighting a kidney issue, or a cancerous issue or a heart issue, etc. into fighting off this outside infection. This can lead to renal failure, organ failure, lung failure, heart failure, as the strain was too much for the body to bear. it's the "straw that broke the camel's back", so to speak. So, the Lower bound is 0.187% CFR, the upper bound is 2.67%. The truth lies somewhere between those two limits.

The Covid-19 mortality rate is not .2 percent. It is much, much lower than that. It is around .05 percent or less . It is less than half the mortality rate of the regular flu, much less.

Scott Adams pointed out today that if you go to "major news sources" you will not see the death rate mentioned. He is saying that it is because it is now boring, but I think that it is simply not high enough to be scary. My only worry is that they will do something that will hurt people.

They are opening themselves to a massive lawsuit. If wearing masks increases your chances of getting covid/flu, as proven by a CDC study, and they censor that information, there is a chance they could be held liable for someone getting sick.
