Abandoned buildings exist in places where they are allowed to exist. Some places have laws against it but most dont, and it’s cheapest to do nothing so that’s what some land owners do. As long as they get insurance they probably don’t care.

By law, one may Adverse Possess any abandoned property. Ya gotta know the exact rules in your own state, but if you follow all the rules, unless the official owner shows up an evicts you, in time You will become the rightful owner.

and why would that be? I used to live in one. it was just normal studios inside, but it was a historic building so they couldn't update it, which was kinda nice cause I liked the old brick look.
