Their weapon is guilt. Our weapon should be self respect. We are not the actions of our grandparents we are what we make of ourselves. The measure of our self respect is NOT the greatness of our accomplishment due to our advantages, but rather the effort required to accomplish it. If our effort is lacking because we live in a decadent culture, then our character is less and our self respect diminished. If our effort is great but our accomplishment is not noteworthy because of disadvantages, our self respect is still great because of the effort.

Don't let anyone shame you just because you had an advantage. Your shame can only be self imposed. By self judging your effort given your circumstances, you measure your self worth. Don't let them trick you into self attacking just because you have and an advantage. That is your judgement, not theirs.

If you admit you're guilty because you have an advantage you not only destroy your own self esteem, but also give your attackers a false sense of worth. Their sense worth is not based on accomplishment but rather in tearing down and destroying that which has value. This is the food their ego's feed on... destruction. It is a sort of vamparistic desire that is fed by your submission. Don't give them your energy. Don't give them the life blood of your soul.
