yeah people have been trying to create a currency like that for a while. bitcoins just combines concepts from several digital currencies before it. they couldn't figure out a way to get it to catch on though. then they came up with the idea for using it on a drug marketplace aka silkroad. you can buy most anything anywhere but you can't just by drugs anywhere. this will get people to use bitcoin becuase they have no other choice if they want the drugs...they would contact their netowrk of thousands of agents and tell them they could have some magic mushrooms/weed but they first needed to mine this currency and then you could get drugs for free! soon many people were mining to get these free drugs. eventually some people started actually selling stuff when there weren't any free drugs...and boom now you have a marketplace! but it's not growing! well no shit you dumbass...you have no advertising. boom gawker article... boom people telling their friends tellign their friends ect...
