How Does One Become a Moderator on Voat? ( conspiracy )

I'm not going to even start with censorship that was mod-approved on Reddit. Let's take the SLC saga for example.

I look and I see the same list of mods here...nearly. Some great, some not-so-great.

How does one become a moderator here on Voat? I do NOT wish to do so but perhaps others do? If not here, who can I ask this of?

The only reason the SLC thread was remvoed from /r/conspiracy was due to admin intervention. If they had not forced us to take down the content, we would have left it up.

Atko has made so such request, and that is a testament to the power of voat as an alternative to reddit.

I'm still here! I check in from time to time.

Nothing really needs to be moderated these days. Awhile back some people were spamming, but that only lasted a couple of days.

I do not miss ReddactIt...and I'm sure that the Neuhaus (Newhouse) family doesn't miss me either.

I've been been here since the first wave of r/conspiracy showed up. Not too much modding is needed so far. It would be nice to see them show up, but then again I am not too invested in this subverse yet. I tend to keep my browsing on v/all and playing around with "sets".

I looked up some of the mods here and most of them seem to be inactive.

While Voat is in alpha, I would say any mod which hasn't posted anything to Voat for 30+ days can be considered inactive. In that case, mod can be removed from a sub or the sub can be taken away from them and transferred to whoever requests a takeover in /v/subverserequest .

In case of /v/conspiracy , I think it's safe to say that all mods can be removed except for /u/PrivateJoker since they have all been inactive for 30+ days.

Happy to help. Voat has been around for about 2 years now and traffic seems to be picking up but I am sort of hoping that traffic won't increase too much too fast because I still have about 6 months left to graduate and school is taking quite a bit of my time :) Luckily, Voat is open source so people can (and have been) helping with everything from backend to frontend and I'm eternaly thankful to these guys :)
