My arguments cut both ways. "Coming as a wall" was not how British-owned Jerusalem was restored, so the Balfour Declaration can not be construed as contravening Ratzon (Will). "If it is of G-d" (along with a metric shit-ton of verses linking easy military victory to Divine Will) legitimizes the Six-Day War. However , the current situation with Palestine and Israel's neighbors most closely resembles Judges 1:19;2:3: "...they could not drive out the people who were living in the valley because those people had iron chariots... Therefore, I now say: I will not drive out these people before you. They will be thorns in your sides, and their gods will be a trap to you."

To whom should tolerant Muslims be likened? The G-d of Abraham loves them for worshiping the G-d of Abraham, much as He treasured the Gibeonites who behaved (demanding King Saul and his sons' lives as recompense for their murder), even though they were false converts . It makes sense [that Joshua made them serve] 'the community,' but 'the altar of G-d?' [What qualified them for such a lofty task, which would require special sanctity?] Rather, [this teaches] that Joshua kept the judgment regarding them in suspense. Joshua said, 'I will neither distance them nor bring them near [i.e., I will not decide whether they should be excluded from or included among the Jewish people]. Rather, the one who will build the Temple, whoever he wants to bring near, he will bring near, and whoever he wants to distance, he shall distance.'
