Do not hold false illusions.

Such a thing is an assured eventuality.

Hopefully those at the tip of the spear possess good sense, temper their passions, and are allowed a degree of discretion.

Don't warrant canaries come out every six months?

I don't know, even if a warrent canary was effective they are usually updated once a month.

Edit: Also, don't mean to be so negative but Voat is incorporated in the US now so you ought to be suspicious of that.

They have the ISPs in their pocket, they don't need to be inside the voat servers.

Ask any half-competent network security technician: "how secure is the most ideal internet privacy setup?" and they'll just tell you that if someone wants to get in your computer badly enough, they will. If someone really wanted anything resembling informational privacy, they'd have to use a non-networked computer that NEVER connects to the internet. Literally anything networked can be broken by the right people.

This goes beyond networks. This is can be done in the real world as well.

The way is was told to me was; Locks only keep people honest.

Locks, safes/vaults, network security, doors and things of this nature all have one thing in common...They are all made by humans and if one human make it another can break it.
