It's curious. I want to read this article, but I kind of can't . It's like there's this pressure behind my eyes that gets sharper, all the lights get brighter and every noise gets louder and I find myself cringing in disgust at nothing . Damn. I think I've been brainwashed. Well that's just freaking great. At least it's not so complete that I can't see it happening. I hope I can hold my resolve to look at this again when I don't have so many other things to do. I have somewhere to be, unfortunately, and I'll never get there if I have to grit my teeth and force myself to swallow those words like bitter pills.

I believe I have a problem on a personal level with the very premise of it.

"The Ends Justify The Means" is a statement I find abhorrent at its very core. It's the siren song of brutality throughout all of history. Despots, fascists, and genocidal maniacs of all colors have marched under this banner and I won't be having any of it. Fuck that. The ends are defined by our means. We will never receive good as a result of doing harm. We try, oh how we try, but every problem this guy seems to complain about is a result of justifying our means by the ends we hope to achieve.

The Ends Justify The Means is how malicious people acquire compliance from good people who are too dumb to resist.
