I live in the desert of Nevada and own 3 4x4 vehicles. I carry up to several gallons of water stored in recycled Gator- and Power-ade bottles. Those are almost indestructible and conveniently fit in a day pack for hiking trips. I fill them from our water filter for the city water supply. Some of the bottles are juice bottles that are durable as well. They get emptied, rinsed and refilled yearly if not emptied during use.

Except in location where they control the water and drinking the local tap ages your body at a crazy rate. I live in Los Angeles only drinking bottled since I was a child and have argued with everyone about the merits of it as I have watched their wrinkles grown and their hair fal lout and at 33 I look 22. So, that's great that it's dumb for the planet but what about my body? I only get one of those too.

Unless you travel to a place where water source is dubious, buying water is a massive waste of money. It also costs a lot more water to produce a single bottle of water. in addition there's the PET bottle, plastic packaging, fossil fuel burnt to deliver the water across the country.

screwreddit

It would be nice to drink tap water, but our infrastructure is a joke. EPA spill in Colorado just 1 example, its like they are trying to force us to drink bottled water.

I need to look it up again but I recall reading that Nestle's entire operation uses a fraction of a percent of California's water and even if they stopped production it wouldn't put a dent in anything.

I buy dasani or aquafinia. They are local water sources that have Reverse Osmosis + then some Mg and Ca added in for flavor.

In case you didn't notice. Those 'water safety' reports your county sends you has about 12 things in it you don't ever want to drink. Their testing methods are laughable, their reported numbers are just that, not factual imo.

Why is their still flouride in my water? Why am I paying to have to remove this from my diet?

Thats why I drink bottled water.

Kal

Just keep doing what Coca-Cola has frightened you into doing, you tool.

QuestionEverything

Ouch.. I'm actually looking into a nice RO system. Tooled me! lol. But yeah, point taken. FYI, hazardous chems in local counties aren't an anomaly, it's a fact. There's roundup in them thar waters.

Womb_Raider

Stop throwing around insults and accusations of fear mongering and google the effects of Flouride on the human body and ask yourself why it's so commonly found in drinking water? Oral health is easily managed without the addition.

It serves two purposes: waste management, and flouride has a calming, sedative effect. It represses outrage. Google it. I won't do it for you.

Kal

So buy a filter for your tap if it makes you feel better. You could get hit by a bus tomorrow, but at least you helped out Coca-Cola all your life and have no fluoride in your body.
Since we're googling things, why don't you do some research on how free water in every home became unacceptable to drink back in the 90's?
I'll try to stop with the insults, but you guys buying water from multinational corporations when most of you have perfectly healthy water that won't cost you a dime need to admit you might be tools.

disgust

I use a reverse osmosis, carbon, and alkalizing tabletop filtration system to drink my tap water. Buying bottled water is a waste of money and resources.
