I think a lot of people like living in renting condos and apartments etc. I don't understand it but yeah I met a lot of people who favor it for some reason. It's easy to pick up and move I guess.

I've owned 3 homes in my life but now i'm renting. Why? because there's no money to be made like there used to be. In 2003 i bought a house for 225k, put 20k into it and sold it in 2006 for 375k. I made a bundle on a few other houses too. No thanks on buying a house in today's economic climate though, i'll let someone else do that and i'll rent from them.

I actually went to a seminar not long ago... reason so many apartment complexes are going up and rent on a single bedroom apartment is 60% more than it was a decade ago is because of the decline in home ownership.

Not sure if it is a solid indicator of a still stagnant economy but it's no indication of recovery either.
