SheGate brigade happened because Voat got too good at being anti-SJW? ( conspiracy )

So here's the setup. Voat posts a lot of stuff which is anti-SJW, anti-Clinton, and which suggests that some mainstream feminists have their values inside out. Some of the posts are on the mark. Perhaps on the mark enough to make establishment's SJWs feel uncomfortable. Where maybe they were originally content to allow the critics to have Voat as a place to play, are now looking for ways to stifle the message. So enter SheGate, a high-profile affair which has easily become overblown (the posting restrictions which have been triggered means that she can't always argue in her own defense) and malicious . That way, it's easy for the establishment to say, "haha, don't mind them, Voat is just a bunch of irrational misogynists" when it becomes convenient to brush off something that Voat says. So I'm suggesting that the drama might have been intentionally stoked from the outside in order to create the effect.

P.S. I'm still not completely convinced that @She is a SJW and that the brigade isn't - being pro-self and protesting being brigaded doesn't mean you're a SJW, and neither does being a girl who talks about women's issues. It just means you're normal.

It's more likely that bigots and other wackjobs feeling burned that they are getting pushed off social media congregate on sites that tolerate them. Sjws are a vehicle that corporate interests have been using to stifle expression that runs counter to their interests. Soon voat will fall victim to the same thing that got MySpace, Facebook, Wired, Slashdot, Digg, fark, and Reddit....its called Money.

If bigots can be monetized, they will be. Money is always a factor, but I think a lot of social media is personality driven. It's like showing up at the "cool guy's" living room to see what will happen. Sometimes he sells his house to a coffee shop, but sometimes his neighborhood turns shitty, or he moves to spend time with his family and read a book, or he tries to redecorate and it sucks and there's a few assholes who never leave, or after a few months of showing up you realize the host is a dick and you only come for free beer, or, you know, he kills himself in response to draconian enforcement of copyright laws. Then, the money happens. Lawyers only divide an estate when they have a corpse.

Actually, Fark is still a relatively pleasant place to post. I've seen better discussions there than many other places.

It may be... I was there a long, long time ago. I grew tired of "Drew". I took a break for a few years working on a project. It had changed between... 2004 and 2008? Election years seem to get the morons fired up.

The whole thing feels like a setup for drama, I mean they even made it easy to have a target to go after with that username.

I already assume voat to be compromised so I just ignore the stupid shit and try to find the gems hidden around. All the stuff with she just feels like a distraction and a waste of time, just ride out the waves while you still have a boat.

Once you have 3 of the devs willing to manipulate vote-counts to shield their personal friends (who happen to be SJWs) infiltrating and consolidating control over discussion, and Paypal holding your account hostage unless you bow to the SJ agenda, the war is over before it started.
