The odd thing is that Michael Crichton did not predict an Ice age in the 1970s where the climatologists of the time did and opps those same guys moved from Ice Age to Global warming to Climate change.

Special GOLD STAR to /u/FinnTheHuman for helping me suss out what triggers the astroturfing.

It wasn't popular when I said you were compromised . My only "criticism" is that the article is "old" -- yet only in reviewing what we were told would surely happen can we determine when we were deceived.

Proudly posted from a land I was promised would be underwater when this article was written.

He also wrote one of his critics in to one of his novels and portrayed him as a paedophile with a micro-penis.

The writer has written fiction for far too long, he believes everything is fiction and scripted.

FinnTheHuman

Sounds like you know nothing about him, considering you're speaking about a dead man in the present tense.

ximian

I read all his books, I forgot he was dead. but this line of thinking even if it was said a long time back, seemed like he got warped by the deniers rather than science. since he's said that a lot has changed, and the proof is there for people to see, warming is happening progressively although it will take a long time for the scientists to piece things together. reminds me of this cartoon .

@FinnTheHuman , thanks for reminding that he is as no longer around. i loved his books, and Im going to revisit them. regardless of his opinion about global warming, I love his works.

What an idiot, even most climate sceptics have to acknowledge that there is huge climate changes going on. That is just plain fact, sceptics only argue that humans have nothing to do with it (contrary to the evidence). But even if their interpretation is crazy wishful thinking at least they acknowledge observable facts. But not this guy.

FacelessOne

As far as I know, it doesn't matter if human involvement is involved, the ice core record is screaming at us that shit hits the fan on occasion in regards to worldwide climate change that has been ongoing since our planet has had a stable crust.

The question to be answered is will we blindly do nothing in preparation for change as is humans motus operande, or will we accept the fact that shit happens and we aught to be prepared to make drastic changes in the areas of concern so as not to continually see millions if not billions of human lives lost because of stupid decisions like not building infrastructure to use when catastrophic events occur.

That was what the article linked to was written for - the release of State of Fear, article dated 2004.
