Everyone misremembering the spelling the same way, that's all it is.

Right after I first heard of this I was at a bar with a large group of friends and I grabbed some keno pencils and paper, gave each person one, and said "Remember the kids book form back in the day about the family of Bears? DON'T SAY IT OUT LOUD, Just write their name on the paper."

Every single person wrote it with an E, except for Ryan, Ryan wrote down Winnie the Pooh,

This sparked conversations with people around us and by the end of the night it seemed like the entire bar was in denial about the name, people were all Googling it and freaking out. Calling their wives to look in their kids room and tell them how it is spelled on the book itself.

I don't know why, but it seems that all of Generation X is currently suffering from a shared delusion.
