B oycott, D ivest & S anction, it's the only tool many of us have. Kudos to Reykjavik, hopefully the boycott sticks.

For those with investment portfolios, you play a critical role with the Divest tool at your disposal. Divesting from any corporation who profits from the Zionist regimes and oppression (Caterpillar and HP are in a lot of 401Ks) is key - rRemove your current from their systems and help power them down.

Mayor of Reykjavík Dagur B. Eggertsson announced today on Icelandic national broadcaster RÚV that Reykjavík City Council will cancel its previously-announced boycott of Israeli products, explaining that the city will now only boycott goods produced in occupied territories.

Too bad but still a step in the right direction. Other European nations have also done this.

Thanks for the update by the way.

sodaphish

I bet they still buy Israeli infosec products... two of the three best firewalls on the planet are made by Israeli firms. And frankly, that isn't changing any time soon.

salvia_d

I wouldn't buy any tech from Israel... back-door galore.

sodaphish

LOL, like its any different for anyone else... Cisco? Its been documented (google that shit) that they worked with the NSA. H3C? Chinese backdoored so bad the US govt won't even allow its agencies to buy that shit.

Just sayin', its not just the Israelis that backdoor shit. The reality is, everyone is playing the same game.

salvia_d

I'd be looking to buy products from countries that actually have laws against installing back-doors. Germany does come to mind, from what I recall, they have laws to safeguard against this.

sodaphish

TLA's (three letter agencies, e.g. NSA, FBI, CIA, etc.) would be the only ones equipped to detect such a backdoor, and -- as with the FBI -- would be the agency to enforce the laws against backdoors, and ironically are the same one's that would benefit from the presence of backdoors. Seems unlikely that they'd be too aggressive about enforcing backdoor laws unless they were against foreign companies (which, when it comes to tech companies the US markets are dominated largely by American companies, with some notable exceptions.)

Drenki

The purpose of Israel as a democracy is to destabilize the region. It serves no other purpose especially considering that calling something a "democracy" means jack shit if those in charge either don't count the votes or only let you choose between their puppets.

As long as the region remains in conflict, cheap oil will be available.

2ndbrother

Why is this under conspiracy? I mean...it's out in the open, it's a simple boycott....where is the conspiracy?

salvia_d

It's a piece of a larger puzzle.

2ndbrother

Convenient that it is always a piece of a larger puzzle, isn't it?

salvia_d

Welcome to "Conspiracy".

Froztwolf

The headline is very misleading (here and in the article itself). It was only the municipality of Reykjavík (the capital of Iceland) that's boycotting Israeli products from the list of items they purchase for its own needs.

The country isn't boycotting anything, and individuals are free to do what they please.

salvia_d

Example set by the capital, the odds are the rest of the country will follow.

Froztwolf

Iceland can be a bit different from other countries in that way. I'm really not expecting the rest of the country to follow suit.

bludream

People are opening their eyes finally on the racer and facist country that is Israel.

mr_skeltal

Is this all of Iceland or just Reykjavik though? The headline says Iceland but the article only speaks about the Reykjavik city council.

salvia_d

Only Reykjavik, but the odds are that it will slowly become the whole country, it is the capital and largest city of Iceland after all.

Froztwolf

I'm not to sure about that. The municipal government has been taking a lot of flack for doing this.

salvia_d

From whom?

Drenki

Probably just Western media.

Iceland had kind of a wakeup call with the 2008 crisis. They were the only people that figured out what bullshit bailing out the banks was and decided to do something about it. They let their banks fail and saw a fast recovery.

Everywhere else where banks were bailed out has seen nothing but stagnation or insane inflation or unemployment.

Maybe those same people started looking around a little more at what's going on in the world and that's what led to this decision.

Onlio

At least there is ONE country that has the balls to take a stand.

Sweet_BBJesus

i think Iceland is the one country to always be first to realize and act.

Didn't they kick out major banks two years ago or something like that?

Turbo_Sloth

So they're not going to buy iPhones? Many of the parts are made in Israel

Damndirtyape

Really? I thought that was in china

EllenPaosEgo

Still not seeing a downside.

Turbo_Sloth

Touche.

llamayan

The US is way too entrenched, sadly...

un1ty

entrenched

LOL! We've got dual-citizenship wielding congressmen. Entrenched is an understatement.

mcwilshire

That country is Israel.

Iceland is peopled with the same self-destructing self-hating postmodern postwestern white pussies who can't bother to breed or fight to save their civilization from the barbarians at the gates as the rest of western Europe.

Israelis stand for themselves. Icelanders and the rest of Western Europe don't even stand to piss.

The_North_Remembers

They stand for themselves with 3 billion in US aid lol

Drenki

$3 billion is nothing. Access to military hardware is much more valuable.

2ndbrother

And let's hope they stand alone soon, and we can see exactly which policies were actually self-destructing.

Israel without the protection and propping of the US is nothing.

paidshill

That would be great if the whole world followed Iceland's lead. South Africa ended apartheid primarily because of boycotts and economic sanctions, look at the festering shithole it is today. It's about time these heebs get a taste of the diversity they've been forcing on us for the last 50 years. Either that or they'd have to become the next North Korea.

Journey

Hahaha!!!

Taste of the diversity?

Russian, Ethiopian, Arab shops and supermarkets are all over Israel. People as well as food, cultures and everything that comes with them from Ethiopia to Brazil to Russia to Vietnam and Philippines you can find it here.

Christians (or Atheist former Christians like me) studying along side Jews (of course), Muslims and Druze. - Even playing football Tuesday evenings!

Army service with messianic Christians, secular jews, Druze, religious jews and muslims.

Ahahaha, fucking retard...

paidshill

All ethnic Jews or Palestinians though. I wasn't talking about diversity of beliefs, you dope. A Jew who can speak Russian or cook a kebab or doesn't believe in god is still a Jew. We all know this, so you don't have to bother being obtuse. White South Africans still let blacks serve in the military and play sports with them during apartheid, it doesn't mean shit. Your country is an ethnic nationalist apartheid state, I'm sure you already know that though.

Journey

Edit: Tons of them were born in their respective countries, not all of them keep to jewish tradition, or are in fact jewish (spouses of non jews). Christians immigrating from USA and serving in army to acquire citizenship.

I guess I finally met, a stupid shit that is 100% positive he knows what he's talking about. The funny thing is this shit you're writing, isn't something new, I've seen it in some other places, it's painfully obvious the amount of parroting you do.

But...

[Original comment:]

Yeah, you must be right, your understanding of reality through something you have read on the internet is better than someones who lives here.

Keep on being a retard, you autistic joke, lol.

paidshill

OK shlomo, like I'd ever trust a word you say. LOL!

ixaxxar

Never trust a kike.

the_magic_man

South Africa didn't have any political clout in America. Criticise Israel and you're called antisemitic

paidshill

Tides are turning, I hope so at least. People have negative opinions of just about everything the Jews control in the US, especially media.

the_magic_man

Looks like voat has a healthy population of Israelbots. Prepare to be downvoted

goodluvin

should be in v/news too

Don't see the conspiracy angle. What is it?

salvia_d

Please feel free to repost.

Kaizervonmaanen

It is a conspiracy to stop Israel from oppressing and murdering Palestinians because they have the wrong race.

blackblarneystone

by boycotting their gefiltefish?

Froztwolf

Wrong Nordic country. You should be thinking about the delicious fermented shark!

blackblarneystone

no, read again.

boycotting jewish stuff.

gefiltefish is jewish.

the fermented stuff is ludefisk

Froztwolf

Ah ok. I thought you were referring to the Norwegian version of that.

The Icelandic version is the fermented shark

goodluvin

Iceland's policy not really "hidden" agenda. But whatever.

Israel's policy of treating everyone else like 2nd or 3rd class person is something else.

Thought the mods were deleting your post.

Kaizervonmaanen

I was just airing some suggestions of why it might be here.

Israel's policy of treating everyone else like 2nd or 3rd class person is something else.

That's not hidden either....

goodluvin

They will never openly admit it.

ok..maybe im wrong.. http://www.rt.com/news/315801-jerusalem-approves-sniper-fire/
