The article is a revisionist drivel of the current events and ignores the real origins of US interventionism which really started with the Democratic party's embrace of "Manifest Destiny" of the 1840s, re-enforced with the embrace with the creation of the Federal Reserve by the Democrats and the wars they wages from the 1910s till the 1960s

With defection of the LBJ war-hawks ( ie Scoop Jackson and Jeane Kirkpatrick ) from the Democratic party in the 70s to the GOP which eventually co-opted the GOP into being the Democratic-lite party

The embrace of government is the embrace of war as a tool to grow it

Everybody voats for the headlines. Nobody reads the articles. Thanks for littering the comments with some academic integrity. At least people read the comments.

yea yea lets just ignore that the wars we're started by republicans. Oh that fact can be glossed over. Obama was handed a pile of steaming shit when his holiness the republican president left office and told to spruce it up and fix 8 years of bad policy. Now we're getting ready for another 8 years of more bad policy.

Dysnomia

You're joking if you think for a second that anyone here is gonna fall for that sort of bipartisan sectarianism *right after a comment about how the Republicans and Democrats share the same neo-imperial agenda.

Bfwilley

I may be wrong but hasn't obama become the targeted kill by drone high scorer, some thing like 2,500 + and counting?

Already covered this. ... Before the 70s and the defection of LBJ Warhawks to the GOP, the only real war initiated by the GOP was the Civil War
