What's this bullshit about dioxin? Dioxin wasn't a pesticide or herbicide, but a contaminant in the Agent Orange herbicide that was known about but used anyway. It was what caused the birth defects which are now associated with Agent Orange itself.

We should have committees comprised of our state legislatures that audit the actions of these federal agencies as they concern the constituents of any given state. The elected representives we send to Washington are too concerned with their status to give a damn.

You are referring to an instance on a congressional committee. I am suggesting that similar committees should exist at the state level where the people are better represented. If the voters elect a creationist representative, then his or her involvement on a science committee would be valid, as it would be an accurate representation of the constituency. I personally do not find that scenario ideal, but America needs more democraric representation, not authoritarianism.
