The real issue is that by trying to please everybody, the UN pleases nobody. Add all the small time crookedness and abuse that goes on and the UN just doesn't seem to be a net positive contributor to a better world. After putting the Saudis in charge of human rights, calling for internet censorship to protect women from "cyber violence" (whatever that is), doing absolutely nothing to stop Israel from committing genocide, not to mention the various offshoot organizations like the IMF and NATO which wreak havoc across the globe on a daily basis...
