Last summer the CDC was telling us half a million folks would drop dead from the ebola. I work in the healthcare field, and my boss assured me it was true...even though I pointed out this was the same fear porn they used re swine flu, avian flu, H1N1, AIDS, etc.

Perhaps if they hadn't been doing advocacy instead of research so much in the recent past they wouldn't have had to have been told what they could and couldn't do in the first place.

And yet, the CDC does studies on intimate partner violence, and many other social issues/factors.

And they shouldn't be studying these things either. If they actually focused on infectious diseases maybe they'd actually accomplish something.
