You don't vote on appointees.

Defeating fascist influence requires slaying two dragons. This takes care of the corporate side, which is harder because we have no semblance of direct influence on them. The government side is not totally out of the public hands as of yet and is subject to some degree of oversight via judicial and social means. The alarms are already being raised by privacy interests to ensure that any "net neutrality" trojan horses are sussed out before they enter the gates.

OWNtheNWO

You absolutely have direct influence on corporations, with your dollar. Even with this rigged market, refusing to use their product is powerful, look at McDonalds worst sales in 20 years because no one wants to eat their poison anymore.

Empire_of_the_mind

Equating the user of consumerism to wield influence with the actual power inherent in directly-elected government is a mistake.

Your sad little boycott is a piss in the bucket, does not address the root cause issue, and is easily overcome with a few nickels thrown at the marketing machine.

It's not about truth. It's about relevance. Besides, the article is about an action taken the prior December. Consider reading it.

Eh, I wouldn't worry too much. Pirating stuff is bad for hollywood, but good for the powers that be since technically-inclined people are busy cracking DRM or getting distracted by it and not hacking.

Genghis_Khan

Aaaaaaaaaand it was published 2/4/11.

OWNtheNWO

Exactly.

Vladimir_Komarov

I thought it might be bad to blindly trust the government to protect us from all of the crooks. Turns out maybe some of those crooks are in the government too.

OWNtheNWO

Some? LOL, stick around for a while.
