You say that now but then you get hit by a car and get fired because you're gone on medical leave for two months.. Leaving you broke and eventually homeless. Not that I wish that upon you but it can happen to anyone bud to say otherwise is naive and unobservent to a failing system

I'm not usually a mean-spirited person but if you mean that, I hope your life starts crumbling and you end up on the streets. Just sayin'.

This is Russell Brand's video on the subject, including the video OP posted.

Appreciate the link, subscribed to him.

His videos are good, but careful you don't just automatically agree with everything he says: think independently. Sometimes Russell tries to push his own opinion a bit too much and it can be offputting, but largely the channel is unbiased.

Yeah, the statistics are a bit well rounded & not broken down, to be honest subbed in good gesture for the vid for it's good points, but that's all.

Won't be watching any other vids, don't sub or log in, decided to just once for the vid, will get my resources as per normal.

Thanks for the heads up though, it keeps me head above water.

That's a pretty fucked up thing to say man I hope you were joking. Homeless people aren't always just some person who said fuck it I don't want to do work or fit in with society. Some of those people could have been divorce-raped, had has repo'd, went broke for any number of reasons etc etc. it could be you or me one day

Fullmetal

You'll get yours.

What the fuck are Americans doing? All these guns & 'freedom' & they're not fighting back to secure their freedom like they did for independence day? Did they lose the will to fight? What the fuck! GO TO CIVIL WAR you morons.

Iraq/Murica spot the difference, there isn't one.

Jesus christ, so glad cancelled traveling there to work as a lifeguard. America is out of control.

Thanks for post. Awareness is key, keep this shit exposed, it's already on Reddit world news.

Update: The mods of Reddit are suppressing this, when you post it's gone from the new page of worldnews & news

The more I use reddit, the more I realize they are hiding from the really big stories now a days.

It's unclear in the video who fired the first shot, but then again the shots all sound like they come from the same weapon. If I had to make a guess, when one of the cops started yelling "drop the gun", the other cop panicked and discharged his weapon, then just kept firing it.

The guy who did it is younger than I am. I guess this is what happens when you train kids fresh out of school in an adversarial us vs them culture, then give them a lethal weapon. That guy's fucking dead because that kid couldn't handle his adrenaline rush.

I think you can hear, "Drop the gun! Drop the gun!", but the video is shaky and that (lady?) picking up the police baton gets in the way between then and when the shooting starts. People in the crowd affirm that there was no gun, but does anyone know if it has been confirmed either way if the homeless man really had a weapon? Or is this one of those situations equivalent to when officers automatically yell, "Stop resisting! Stop resisting" out of habit, regardless of the situation? (I understand he was visibly resisting compliance) I'm referring to a parallel situation whereby officers seem to bark commands that cannot be followed, because they are not being broken to begin with; he can't very well drop a gun he doesn't have. But these commands may give legitimacy to audio-only recordings and/or grainy video that may be used as evidence if force is used against the person. It's like extra insurance, because it shows the officer may have "perceived" a threat, which as I understand it, in many (most?) states that's all an officer need to pull a gun on you or taser/mace you.

Right away my instinct is to say no, the guy was held down by 4+ police officers and was being tasered after being punched...he was being manhandled. So unless he was on something like PCP or meth, with 4-6 officers in the vicinity I doubt he could have put up much of a fight beyond maybe getting in a sucker punch or something like spitting/biting after he was restrained. If they had him pinned down by the arms, neck and torso, what ability does he have to reach for a gun much less point it at anyone or use it in any meaningful manner? I understand accidents happen and any discharge would put the people in the immediate vicinity at risk. But wouldn't backing up from him, drawing your weapon, removing the safety and shooting him (which doesn't necessarily immediately stop the threat) be more of a risk because you no longer have control over his extremities? If he had a gun and you had him pinned with multiple officers, wouldn't you want to disarm him before letting him go in any capacity?

The Anti-Media ran a story on it. http://theantimedia.org/los-angeles-residents-respond-lapds-execution-africa/

It has more details of the incident.

Murica! Where the police are cowards who use their position of power to assert their authority by using unnecessary force. Wonder why this never made national television. Police abuse their power everyday then try to act like saints on the telly. Mind you, they tarnish the name of those who just want to do their job and take care of their families.. They put them at risk. As a European, I honestly think America will suffer gun tragedies out of love of their guns. Had a mate's father who worked for Scotland Yard. He rarely ever had to worry about shootings. It was just knife crime or your occasional hooligan.

You can hear tasers crackling while the victim is pinned on the ground at 0:23 and he is then shot while lying down at 0:26 ... what is this world coming to? :(
