This is good to know; however, I doubt their opposition to the TPP had anything to do with why the hospital was blown up.

I say this for a few reasons.

  1. They were a handful of doctors in another country, they did not have much political pull on popular opinion to pose much of a threat to the TPP.

  2. Pretty much every self-respecting doctor who cares about others instead of just money opposes the TPP, why not blow them all up?

  3. It's pretty expensive of a task to blow up a hospital just to erradicate a few people who don't like the TPP.

Do I think that the bombing was an accident or mistake? Nope, I believe it was intentional; however, I do not believe they were bombed solely or even partly because Doctors Without Borders opposes the TPP.

This is just my half-cents on the matter. If you disagree, that's cool.

why not an accident?

Beautifully put. These Doctors (as wonderful human beings that they are/were) don't hold any political power so its reasonable to believe that their political leanings played no part in the bombings. This is a very different scenario than JFK going after AIPAC for example.

This website is what would happen if you put all rural America south of Kentucky on the same website and removed 35 points from each of their IQs.

Of everything I've read so far on Voat today, your sarcasm was the smartest.

escapefromredditbay

lol. eh, definitly part of it.

man, some of the people Reddit booted out are very annoying to sit by.

Agreed. I'm always for a heated debate and usually play devil's advocate if I feel a sub is too one-sided, but most of these users take it so personally I can't get any response except emotional backlash. Voat is not turning out the be the place of open discussion I thought it would be.

Like the top level commenter on this - great article and line to spark a debate, but sadly all the replies he's likely to give in its defense are more copy/pastas if his user history is any indication (and more likely moved on to shill the next page by now).

Posting and sharing differing opinions is what makes the internet better than all other media IMO, but one has to stick around to defend these ideas in order to shape new opinions.

Thanks for listening, I needed to get this off my chest.
