That was some serious rabbit hole shit.

Willful ignorance is absolutely disgusting. The world is a big place, and obviously everyone can't muster the time or energy to learn and care about everything... But a basic grasp of politics and economic history should be a given. They shape the lives of these people who can't be bothered to care.

KoKansei

Willful ignorance. This is the great evil at the heart of our own dysfunctional "democracy." The quintessential sin of modernity.

Thanks for expanding on the above posters point, i think i agree with you, its just not so simple you can call someone delusional for thinking we're on a solid recovery.

KoKansei

Hey man. I just wanted to stop by and say sorry for being a dick in my last post. That was uncalled for. It's just frustrating that the MSM media propaganda is so effective in convincing people of the exact opposite of the truth.

Sorry again about losing my temper there.

rollinstone123

I see voat is just as hostile as reddit when it comes to economic policy.

rollinstone123

I'm inclined to think it is the pressure. The economy is getting stronger. There is nothing terrible on the horizon.

rupertmandrake

> There is nothing terrible on the horizon.

Certainty is absurd. Did you have a past life on the Titanic, perhaps? Can't you comprehend how the fed inflating the dollar by some $40 billion a month will have some negative affect, eventually? Chickens come home to roost. These banksters are pros at kicking the can down the road, and attempting to bail out and stick someone else with the tab. Well, no road goes on forever. I personally know a bigtime banker at BofA (asset management, all his clients are millionaires and billionaires) and I straight up asked him "Hey Bob - you're a big money guy - what do you say about this recession? How are we gonna get out of it if we just keep going futher into debt, borrowing & printing more money?" His answer said it all: "We'll grow out of it." Typical capitalist response - apparently they inhabit an endless planet with no limits, must be nice. Ya, we'll just keep digging a deeper pit to "grow" out of. suuuuure. Anyone with any intuition senses the banksters have built a house of cards, and the day of reckoning is coming. This (2015) is the shmita year, it seems prudent to prepare for some turbulence - but the good news is that this purge will make us much stronger in the long run. As we ingenst the toxic brew they've forced upon us, it will cause some discomfort, but we'll all feel much better once we are rid of it. (just try to not get any on your shoes)

KoKansei

The economy is getting stronger.

CNBC koolaide drinker spotted.

You are seriously delusional if you believe this.

camelToe

Markets are up. Its not delusional to think so. Why not expand your point by saying what you really think; like say the recovery is not stable, or whatever it is that you think.

The economy has been getting stronger though.

asg101

40 dead banksters... that is a good start.

rollinstone123

I'm not sure if you are serious. It is alarming if you are. The public's hatred for bankers is frankly unwarranted. The housing bubble was caused just as much by people buying homes they couldn't afford as it was caused by the banks that approved their loans. As someone with a family member that worked on Wall Street until 2003 I can tell you that financiers do not want to fuck over the people or the economy because they will lose money or their jobs.

asg101

Yeah, and family members of killer cops are just as defensive and victim-blaming when the pigs murder unarmed people and get away with it. Banksters are absolute parasites, and the hatred towards them is most certainly warranted. They are the principle driving force behind the destruction of the world economy. They profit off of others' pain and suffering, and have no regrets as they live lavish lifestyles at our expense.

nearly-evil

If this were even remotely true there would have been no bank bailouts. Bankers behave like lunatics because they know they can, they are not held accountable. Have you ever read a mortgage, the whole thing? No it is hundreds of pages long. Is this to protect the buyer? No it ensures no one will ever understand what they are getting into. Your family member may be a nice guy, but the vast majority of wall street are parasitic predators.

KoKansei

A parasite who doesn't realize he's a parasite is still a parasite.

rupertmandrake

The public's hatred for bankers is frankly unwarranted.

To you perhaps, but I respectfully disagree in general. Bankers are parasites which feed off the creative forces of the rest of us, and contribute nothing apart from consumption. There is a LOT of righteous indignation at the predatory and parasitic nature of capitalists, and at banksters especially. Debt slavery is a system of patricarchical / hierarchical control forced upon us, and until people wake up to this reality, we're in for a long haul. End human slavery, free your mind, reject slavery - own your own sovereignty. You are far more powerful than you've been led to believe. We all are, and in that truth, lies the key to undoing the control mechanisms.
