I work as an administrative assistant in a company based outside of the US that manufacture medical devices so we see FDA on a fairly regular basis. I personally can't stand them. I've been told that they operate on the premise that you ARE doing something wrong and they WILL catch you, they put everybody on edge needlessly and are on a total power trip. They even have a title, Investigators, and get irritated if you don't address them as such.

Compare this to the auditors from Europe and China, they are also thorough but are able to do their jobs without completely alienating everybody and treating them like dirt. It totally figures that the FDA are corrupt, the "Investigators" are probably just pissed off that we haven't bribed them.
