Dysnomia

It's more literal than that. Spaceships can travel between solar systems and galaxies by flying through the sun.

Well, I'm certainly curious what those sub-marine structures are. I don't straight up believe they are aliens, but they are definitely weird.

As for the "ships guarding the area", I'm sure what we're seeing are out-of-date photos. Only way to really know would be to be there.

I don't doubt the area has attracted an increased military presence as Yemen is under attack from Saudi Arabia and China, Russia, and even North Korea are in Middle East waters. Apparently NATO has been active in the area since the Somali pirates started making the news, so I don't doubt an increase in activity.

I know there are some other stories running about the area. Claims of discover of the Queen of Sheba's gold mines in Ethiopia (I think her kingdom spanned both that area and Yemen on the Arabian peninsula). Those claims of discovery are pretty solid. What's not solid are claims about the Ark of the Covenant and the resting place of Sheba+Solomon's son. Apparently a scrap of pottery from Israel said the Ark was moved to Yemen and then some guy calimed he found the exact location. http://www.viewzone.com/protocanaanite22.html

There's also some interesting Christian history being uncovered in the area: http://www.spiegel.de/international/world/buried-christian-empire-in-yemen-casts-new-light-on-early-islam-a-874048.html
