Why would you rather go to jail and not have pot than be home and not have pot?

I do believe it is ridiculous for a plant to be illegal, and even more ludicrous that anyone should be denied

something that has medicinal benefits.

Well, someone has to make a statement. If everyone just accepted laws and regulations that are ludicrous beyond any amount of sanity, then nothing would ever change.

It sets a precedent. If more people follow, they wouldn't be able to jail everybody, and chances are the law would be adjusted. Much like how alcohol prohibition didn't work in the US. They simply had to legalize it again.
