Why would mainstream media report on their own creation?

It's too bad the 1993 bombing didn't erode more freedoms and liberties from the american people.. If it had, we might have been able to avoid 9/11..

This is the first I've heard about this, and as I was watching my face was probably in a WTF expression. Now I'm trying to find more information about this. It does seem that most documentaries about this focus more on the firefighters and people that helped in searching for survivors, and yes that's commendable, but I was more interested in anything related to exposing the FBI and the full interviews and recordings about it.

I posted this old news report and a current article about Dan Rather hoping that people would gain some context and connect a few dots. Here's the connection that we might make by looking at these consecutive submissions.

Dan Rather was fired because he could not be entirely trusted by the establishment. The Bush AWOL story was a hit job -- not only to get rid of Dan Rather -- but also to cleanse history of his 40 years of reporting -- because some of the reports were like this one.
