Similar thing happened to me a few years ago when I worked with the VA. The VA will do contracts with disabled vets and I had to go throw one's business which was merely just a middle company. They always paid me late and never communicated anything to me. I had the audacity once to ask them when my paycheck was coming.

Thinking about it though, it was probably just cronyism and not the same thing. There are a LOT of disabled vets and most are homeless, this guy probably just had friends in the VA and may have even faked his disability.

It seems the market is giving the middle finger to affirmative action.
