Let's be aware of forum sliding topics ( conspiracy )

I was trying to make a point on the other site about forum sliding. The people who are controlling the site are actively working to keep topics off the front page. The most obvious ones that I've seen lately are police abuse videos/links. They pretty much take all the content of /r/Bad_Cop_No_Donut and repost it in /r/conspiracy . This keeps everyone busy commenting and up voting. Meanwhile everyone is ignoring the big stories.

I've seen them do it with other topics too. Like Left vs. Right politics, CIA limited hangouts, old stories that keep getting revived, etc.

You can usually tell because a whole bunch of similar stories appear all at once. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Suddenly, 10 stories about "police brutality" on the front page. Most of the accounts submitting this stuff are only like 1-3 months old. I saw one that was 9 days old.

Reddit's conspiracy board is completely overrun at this point. The shills are running the show and they control the front page. The new algorithm makes it even easier for them to hide their activity. Let's just be aware of forum sliding topics and ban people trying to do it.

Whoaverse does have a feature where you have to sometime to make another post. This will prevent repeated posts from the same account.

I look forward to seeing how different this place will be from the old site, especially the kind of content that is shared while it grows.

The time delay is a good idea. I fully support it! Maybe add an extra bit in the code --- if you submit 3 stories in a row it increases the wait time. 4 submissions makes you wait even longer. Anything to slow down the trolls.

I just checked out /v/news and was blown away. On the old site I didn't bother reading that sub because it was compromised long ago. I was pleasantly surprised to see actual news appearing on Whoaverse!

If that feature could be suspended after a 'probationary' period I would be grateful, I thought I'd put a couple of links up to get this sub moving and was a bit shocked to be rebuffed TBH, obviously I'm a noob here myself right now though, we all are. I wonder how many actual users there were before the exodus too, they must have felt exclusive to have a private 'reddit'.
